This morning, we are thrilled to be recognized by Inc. 5000. Inc. magazine and its list are the go-to sources for identifying companies doing truly great things out there. Smart Rain had a three-year revenue growth of nearly 600%, which earned us recognition on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S. We've also seen a growth of about 600% this year over last year in new sales.
There are many factors that contributed to Smart Rain becoming an Inc. 5000 company. First and foremost, I would recognize our team. We have an amazing team with the right people in the right seats, unified in vision, values, and culture. We believe in our product and that we are making a positive impact on the environment. Our products and services set us apart. We knew we needed to do something different from how the competition has been doing it for the last 20 years. Our customers receive lifetime warranties, lifetime upgrades and updates on the product, guaranteed savings, and support from a dedicated 24/7 account manager. This helps us maintain our 99% customer retention rate.
Smart Rain has an amazing road ahead. We have a tremendous opportunity with water conservation around the globe. Smart Rain is a smart irrigation technology company specializing in weather-based irrigation software. We started a little over 10 years ago and quickly realized there was a great need in the market for a better solution to water conservation. From there, we built out a robust yet intuitive product that saves our customers time, money, and most importantly, our most valuable resource—water.
There is a great need for more education in water conservation, and Smart Rain will be there to help. We continue to develop new and exciting technologies year after year, which set us apart. These technologies include our Smart Mapping, which provides interactive zone and equipment details; Smart Weather, which gives us hyper-localized real-time weather data to manage rainfall accurately; Smart Sensors, including flow, rain, and wireless moisture sensors; and Smart Tether, which allows our customers to tie multiple controllers together in the cloud.
Recently, our Smart Rain Foundation launched the initiative Smart Rain for Smart Kids, where we are giving free Smart Rain controllers to 100,000 schools across the United States. This will save them money, which can then be put back into the classrooms where it belongs. I'm truly excited and looking forward to what the coming years will bring.
