Here at Union Park Center, we're a 40-acre park complex with acres of grass, streambeds, and flowerbeds. We're known for our landscaping, so we're very particular about how we take care of our lawn areas and our flowers. Smart Rain has helped us minimize our water usage while keeping our areas green and our flowers vibrant and beautiful.

The first time I learned about Smart Rain was through our landscaper, who explained that this new technology would allow us to remotely manage our irrigation system and help us with water savings. We had several meetings with Smart Rain, discussing their product and the advantages of their technology. They also conducted a site survey. We then came up with a plan for implementation.

I was a little skeptical because many people promote products capable of saving 30 to 40 percent, but after talking to several other property managers about the technology, I felt more comfortable about installing it here at Union Park Center. We manage seven buildings totaling about 500,000 square feet over 40 acres. Out of those seven properties, we received credits or rebates when we installed the Smart Rain system. Those credits ended up being anywhere from $500 to $1,000 per building.

We're seeing between 15 to 30 percent savings in water over the summer. The Smart Rain system catches irrigation problems quickly. It's a great product, and I've been happy so far. I'm excited to see what the next couple of years will bring in water savings and overall benefits to the park.
